Dear friends,

On July 1, we held a gathering of native and non-native people outside "St. Andrew's Wesley United Church", one of the bigger cathedrals in downtown Vancouver. This was held in remembrance of the children who died in United Church residential schools and hospitals. We distributed the attached material, which we hope you will run off and hand out at the closest United Church to you on Sunday mornings and at church events.

The United Church has been saying some criminally absurd things recently, like no children ever died in their schools, there are no death records (despite our publishing them for over a decade), and so on. When one church woman pushed by our gathering to enter St. Andrew's, she looked at our signs and yelled "That isn't true!", to which one of our people pointed to the native people outside and said "Are you calling all these people liars?". The church woman replied, "Yes, I am!".

On the other hand, on the same morning, several people refused to go into the church service once we read the attached leaflet. Plus, a major radio station covered our event and broadcast a report on it that evening.

Good luck in handing out this leaflet!
