  Dear friends,

This December 24 is the anniversary of the murder of 14 year old Maisie Shaw at the United Church residential school in Port Alberni. To remember Maisie, and the 50,000 other children who died in these "schools", and to call for a return of their remains, we are holding two vigils in downtown Toronto early in February. Please attend.

Attached to this email are posters for the two rallies: the first on Friday, February 8, at the Catholic Diocese offices (noon), and the second the following Sunday, February 10, outside Metropolitan United Church (10 am).

Please post and circulate these notices widely, and plan to attend, especially the Sunday vigil.

I will be speaking that Thursday, February 7, at York University; contact me for more info. And have a great Christmas,

In honour of the children,

The very lands we all along enjoyed
they ravished from the people they destroyed ...
All the long pretenses of descent
are shams of right to prop up government.
' Tis all invasion, usurpation all;
' Tis all by fraud and force that we possess,
and length of time can make no crime the less;
Religion's always on the strongest side.

Daniel Defoe, Jure Divino (England, 1706)
