Ottawa, 11:00 am EST, February 4, 2008
On behalf of the disappeared residential school children and their families, Kevin Annett - Eagle Strong Voice hand delivered a Letter of Demand this morning to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, requiring that he identify the cause of death and burial site of these children within thirty days or face international sanctions and escalating protests.
Kevin delivered the Letter to the Prime Minister's Office in Ottawa at 10 am today, where he was interviewed by reporters, including Aboriginal Peoples' Television Network (APTN). The event will be broadcast nationally on APTN tonight at 6:30 pm.
"Stephen Harper, his government, and the Catholic, Anglican and United Church are committing a crime by refusing to disclose where their little victims are buried" said Kevin to reporters.
"If Harper doesn't respond positively by March 4, we will take him and others to the International Court of Justice, and we'll start occupying his government offices and these churches".
Similar Letters of Demand have been issued to the Queen of England, the Pope in Rome, and the heads of the United and Anglican churches.
The next delivery of this Letter will occur this Friday, February 8 at 12:30 pm to the Archbishop of Toronto at his offices at 1155 Yonge street in Toronto.
